I run beginners' and advanced meditation classes on a regular basis.
Group classes cost £15 per person for an approximately 45 minute session; personal one-to-one meditation is £30 per session. They will be held in the Ewell area (with easy access by car or by public transport). There are sessions on Mondays (morning and evening), Wednesdays (morning and evening), and Saturdays (morning and afternoon). Please contact me to reserve a place on a session or for more information.
How does it work?
You can meditate for all sorts of reasons: to relax, calm down, relieve stress, improve relationships, understand yourself, find your potential or purpose in life, or awaken your spirituality.
With a busy life, it's easy to lose sight of whether we are truly fulfilled and to forget where to find peace. Conditioning from what is expected of us can often disempower us from exploring ourselves and how to live a life that honours our true self and potential. Confusion and inner conflict separates us from loving and accepting ourselves fully.
Meditation means being still, removing your attention from the world around you, and focusing your mind to restore peace. It gives your mind something positive to concentrate on, leading to a positive and peaceful experience. It enables you to connect with your inner peace, which is at the core of you and every human being. By practising meditation, you learn to accept yourself as you are, and you discover your inner strengths and learning to concentrate your mind, and guiding it in a direction that is positive, helpful and enriching.
There are many ways to meditate, and you may need to try to find a way that works. Learning to meditate is a gradual process, so take it easy and be kind to yourself.
Meditation can have a positive effect on your body, for example: lowering your heart rate and blood pressure. It may calm your nervous system, increase energy and vitality - leading to a better night's sleep, assisting with healing and generating a greater sense of well-being.
Meditation can enhance your relationships, allowing you to understand yourself, and the way you interact and communicate with others. It can will empower you to adopt new habits and replace unwanted ones. You may have a more positive outlook, and find more meaning and purpose in life.
You will need to be able to relax and forget about time. In order to achieve that you will be taught various ways to relax through breathing techniques, a guided physical routine or a gazing technique - whichever works best for you. To guide you away from everything else that goes on in your mind, you will be guided by a visual meditation to take you to your inner place of stillness
Just as there are many relaxation techniques and exercises for your body, there are many different ways to meditate. They all give your mind something to concentrate on: some meditate on a phrase (known as a mantra) over and over in your mind, while another is to speak affirmations in your mind. You can also meditate by embarking on a creative visualisation journey.
Your meditation workshop or course will explore the best methods for you.
